How Pocket Saving researches, fact-checks and updates its personal finance articles, who writes them, and how referral links work.

Money decisions affect your family, your savings and your peace of mind. So we take the accuracy of every article on Pocket Saving seriously. This page explains who writes our content, where our information comes from, and how we keep it correct.

Who writes for Pocket Saving

Pocket Saving is run by Pradeep Maurya, a Delhi-based freelancer with more than 13+ years of running his own business. Irregular income, late client payments and planning around both taught him how money really works for everyday Indians. That experience shapes every guide on this site.

Important: Pradeep is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. Our articles explain how financial products and rules work so you can ask better questions. They are not personal investment advice.

Where our information comes from

We rely on primary and official sources wherever possible, such as:

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) circulars and press releases
  • SEBI, NSE and BSE notices and investor education material
  • AMFI and mutual fund scheme documents
  • Income Tax Department and Union Budget documents
  • Bank websites for interest rates and account rules
  • Company filings and results for business news

When an article uses a specific figure, rate or rule, we link to the source so you can check it yourself.

How we check our numbers

Every calculation in a worked example, such as SIP returns, EMIs, FD interest or savings targets, is checked before publishing. You can repeat most of them with our free financial calculators.

Keeping articles up to date

Interest rates, tax rules and bank policies change. We review our guides when a rule changes and update the article along with its “last updated” date. News articles are kept as an archive of what happened at the time and are dated clearly.

Referral links and independence

Some articles include referral links, for example to open a demat account with a broker. If you use these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Referral partners do not review, approve or pay for what we write, and a referral link never changes our explanation of a product’s pros and cons.
